Restorative Dental Treatments

restorative dental treatments - dental care

Restorative dentistry includes many procedures, such as fillings or various tooth replacement options, which aims to restore the function of your mouth.

Our Goal

The All Needs Dental team aims to provide you and your family with quality dental care. This includes restorative dental treatments.

The Types of Restorative and Endodontic Procedures

In addition to fillings, restorative dental care also includes crowns and bridges. Endodontic treatment includes root canal therapies. While many of these services can be performed on site, we also have a network of specialists that we use for referrals.

The Dental Crown

A tooth crown is essentially a cap that is custom made to fit over a tooth. The purpose of a crown is to strengthen, seal, restore and improve the way in which that tooth looks and functions. Crowns can be made of porcelain, a porcelain and metal blend, or in gold.

Benefits of Dental Crowns

Porcelain crowns perform many functions and offer several benefits as a result. They include:

  • Stain resistance
  • Smile restoration
  • Not temperature sensitive
  • Restores strength and toughness to the tooth
  • Restores chewing and biting activity
  • Lasts a long time

The Dental Bridge

A bridge is another form of tooth restoration. They are made to replace single or multiple teeth by bridging two natural teeth together. They look and function like your natural teeth but are in reality fake teeth that are custom made to fit in the gaps between your natural teeth.

Benefits of Dental Bridges

A dental bridge can solve many different problems connected to your oral health. Let the team of dental professionals at All Needs Dental determine the best form of restorative dental care you need. The benefits of this procedure include:

  • Cheek support
  • Easily replaces single or multiple teeth
  • Normal teeth stimulation returns
  • Functional restoration of speech, eating, drinking, smiling
  • Elimination of teeth shifting

The Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy can save a tooth from extraction. When the pulp is damaged it can result in extraction. The pulp contains nerve and connective tissue which, when damaged, is removed, and a filling is placed into the root portion of a tooth. Once this is stable, the crown of the tooth is restored with a filling (sealing the tooth) and ultimately a crown is placed, not only to restore function, but to provide strength and a pleasing appearance.

How To Know When You Need A Root Canal Therapy

The family-friendly team of dental professionals at All Needs Dental point to the following symptoms as signs that you may require a root canal treatment:

  • Abscess on a tooth
  • Darkening of the tooth in question
  • Tooth sensitivity
  • Gum inflammation and pain
  • Severe toothache
